The Sunday Cardigan is knitted from the top down. The yoke is knitted back and forth in rib stitch with increases, while the button bands are knitted simultaneously. The body and sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch and both end with a wide rib trim. The sleeves of the Sunday Cardigan are extra long. The neckline is folded to the inside and sewn there. The buttonholes are worked last (i.e. they are not knitted during the process) by sewing around the button band with buttonhole stitch.
Note: Before you start knitting, you should first knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size you need to get 12 sts / 10 cm. If you knit tighter, you may need a 8 mm needle. If the gauge is not maintained, the appearance of the cardigan will change enormously.
Size Guide
The Sunday Cardigan should have a positive ease of 8-12 cm relative to your bust circumference. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL fit a bust circumference of approx. 85 (90) 95 (100) 110 cm. Measure yourself before you start knitting to make sure you have chosen the correct size for you. For example, if your bust circumference is 90 cm, you should choose size S.
