The Storm Sweater Junior is worked top-down in a textured pattern. First, the back is worked flat. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are gathered at the front. The front and back are placed on one needle under the armholes, forming the body, which is worked straight down. The sleeves are worked in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop method. A ribbing is knitted at the neckline, folded to the inside, and knitted there. The Storm Sweater Junior is worked in a textured pattern consisting of four different pattern segments.
First, knit a swatch to determine the correct needle size for you – note that the swatch must match both in height and width to achieve the measurements indicated on the front. Feel free to make the swatch according to the diagram in the pattern.

The Storm Sweater Junior should have approximately 20-25 cm of positive ease in relation to the bust circumference. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-14) years fit a bust circumference of 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (82) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the front of the pattern. (Note: These measurements are only valid if the gauge is met). If you/the recipient, for example, have/has a bust circumference of 59 cm, you should choose size 5-6 years. A sweater in size 5-6 years has a bust circumference of 80 cm and would in this case have a positive ease of 21 cm. If the measured bust circumference deviates from the age recommendation, you should adjust the length of the person you are knitting for accordingly. The same applies if the child is smaller/taller than average.
