Storm Slipover Junior

The Storm Slipover Junior is worked from the top down, beginning with the back. Stitches are then picked up along the back edge to form the shoulders, which are later joined at the front. Both pieces are placed on one needle at the armhole and worked in the round on a circular needle to form the body. Ribbing is worked around the neck and armholes.

First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size for you. Feel free to knit the gauge swatch following the diagram in the pattern.

Size Guide

The Storm Slipover Junior should have approximately 10 cm of positive ease in relation to the chest circumference. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-12) 12-14 years fit a body chest circumference of 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (78) 82 cm. The measurements of the finished slipover can be found on the front of the pattern (please note that these measurements only apply if the given gauge is met). If you/the recipient, for example, have/has a chest circumference of 62 cm, you should choose size 6-7 years. A slipover in size 6-7 years has a chest circumference of 72 cm and would in this case have 10 cm of positive ease. If the measured chest circumference differs from the age recommendation, you should adjust the length accordingly for the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is smaller/larger than average.
