The Saga Sweater is worked in a textured pattern from the top down. First, the upper back is worked with increases. Then, the shoulders are created by picking up stitches at the top of the back. Subsequently, the work is joined on a circular needle, picking up stitches for the sleeves, and the remaining yoke is worked in the round with raglan increases. The body and sleeves are knitted in the round on a circular needle. Finally, a ribbed band is added to the neckline.
First, knit a gauge swatch to determine the correct needle size for you. Feel free to follow the diagram in the pattern for the gauge swatch.
Size Guide
The Saga Sweater should have a positive ease of approx. 20 cm for smaller sizes and a gradually smaller ease for larger sizes. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the title page. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your bust circumference (or the widest part of your body) measures 90 cm, you should choose size S, as it has a bust circumference of 110 cm, and the positive ease in the given example is 20 cm.
