Ole Mittens by Paula_m

Classic mittens - the ultimate companions for frosty days, as they are known to keep hands the warmest. The OLE Mittens are knitted from the bottom up in half-patent stitch, using a relatively thin needle size of 3.0 mm to ensure the pattern is not too loose. After the ribbed cuff, a thumb gusset is incorporated, providing an excellent fit and ample freedom of movement. The tips of the gloves are shaped with left and right leaning double decreases.

Hand circumference: 16-17 (18-20) 21-22 cm

Measure hand circumference with a tape measure. Measure around the widest part of the hand, not including the thumb.

Double-pointed needles 3.0 mm

/ Gauge

In half-patent stitch: 23 sts x 50 rows = 10 x 10 cm (measured washed and lying flat)

When counting rows, note that due to the half-patent pattern, only 1 stitch appears for every 2 rows knitted.

Tapestry needle, stitch markers if necessary, safety pin for holding thumb stitches
