First, stitches are cast on for the circular yoke, which is knitted back and forth to shape saddle shoulders and a deeper neckline in the front.
Then the work is joined in the round, and increases are worked on the front and back. When the saddle shoulder is shaped, the front and back are knitted separately up to under the sleeves. Then the front and back are reunited and knitted in the round to the total length.
Stitches are picked up around the armhole as well as the stitches from the saddle shoulder. The sleeves are knitted with a puff before the sleeve is knitted in the round to the total length.
The neckband is knitted last.
