The Stockholm Sweater is a pure mohair sweater, beautifully light and fluffy.
It is worked with a double strand.
We recommend Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes, Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive, or Silk Mohair by Isager.
The Stockholm Sweater is knitted top-down in stockinette stitch with a double strand of silk/mohair. First, the upper back is worked, then stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge of the back for the shoulders. The shoulders are worked separately with short rows to create a gusset. The front and back are joined under the arm and continued in the round on a circular needle. Stitches are picked up along the armholes for the sleeves, which are then knitted in the round with double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop method. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline, where a ribbed edge is knitted, folded to the wrong side, and sewn down. The Stockholm Sweater does not require any seaming, except for the folded neckline.
