Isager Archives 2
Share
The previous Isager Archives collection was inspired by Åse Lund Jensen's designs from the 60s and 70s. Now it's time for the 80s and 90s, with Marianne Isager's vast archive of knitting patterns as the source of inspiration.
Here we will always update you with the latest patterns from the collection.

Contribution by Anne VENTZEL to the Isager Archives 2, BETH WARMER. She has fantastically realized the original design China Chess by Marianne Isager.
We can see graphic lines from the original design that were already in play.
Anne Ventzel's Spot models and Grape models now also have an extremely elegant new partner in Beth Warmer. We actually think this is almost a kind of shooting star!
BETH WARMER can be knitted both as an open vest with tie straps at the sides and as a neck warmer. Both variations have in common that they are a nice warm layer under outerwear and an elegant accessory over a shirt on a cool day.
The neck warmer or vest - with or without a band - is knitted in Isager Jensen Yarn, Isager
Silk Mohair and Isager Soft. The design is seamless and is knitted from top to bottom in a combination of
slip stitches and knit stitches.
The pattern can be bought at @anneventzel, and the yarns are available from us, waiting for you both in the store and in the webshop!!
Petite Knit derived her Athene Sweater from a model called Grecque Sweater from the 80s by Marianne Isager. It is not entirely suitable for beginners as it requires seaming. This happens at the armholes, as the jacquard already begins before the armhole. We love the yarn choice for it - it's Isager Soft, which consistently impresses with its softness.

Edda Sweater by Hanne Riemens

The Edda sweater is knitted in stockinette stitch using the jacquard technique according to a chart. The sweater is worked from top to bottom with a European shoulder seam. First, the upper back yoke is worked flat. Next, stitches are picked up for the front pieces along each shoulder line on the back piece. When the upper part of the front pieces is complete and the neckline is shaped, the sections are joined and worked back and forth until the armhole depth is reached. Then, the front and back pieces are joined to form the body, which is knitted in the round according to the chart. The body is worked until it reaches the desired length. Then the ribbing is knitted, and the stitches are bound off with the Italian bind-off technique. Stitches are picked up along the armhole, and the sleeve is knitted from top to bottom in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up along the neckline.
In this pattern, one of the threads dominates throughout the work, creating a neat and uniform appearance.

Andrea Hood by HELGA JÓNA THÓRUNNARDÓTTI
The hood is worked from the bottom up. First, the back is worked, then the two front pieces. After that, all three parts are joined and worked together to the top of the head. A flat section is knitted along the top of the head, where the center of the work is knitted together with the two sides. Finally, a front edge in double knitting is worked along the front and around the face opening, and buttonholes are knitted along one side.

Here comes the AVA Jacket
The Ava Jacket is an oversized jacket with patterned knit details, inspired by Marianne Isager's design Avis (= newspaper), originally published in the 1980s. The fit shows clear references to the characteristic silhouettes of the century.
The shoulders are constructed with a back-set shoulder seam, ensuring a well-fitting shape. Carefully placed increases and decreases along the neckline and sleeves, together with the contrasting line running across the back and sleeves, create a striking and unusual expression. The sleeves are extra wide at the top and narrow towards the wrist. The Ava Jacket is knitted from top to bottom.
